Haskins Furniture is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Sales Manager to join our team. As a General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a sales team to achieve targets and drive revenue growth. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed company goals.
* Manage and lead a team of sales assistants, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
* Set sales targets and monitor performance against KPIs.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
* Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and customer needs.
* Prepare sales reports for management review.
* Collaborate with company-wide teams to ensure effective customer service, deliveries, product launches, promotions, and online activity.
* Organise the transport of stock to and from the warehouse.
* Display products to ensure the customer journey is exceptional.
* Ticket and present POS on the showroom floors.
* Ensure security of Haskins Retail Park, key holder with the expectation to unlock and lock up when at work.
* Cover departments as needed.
* Produce rotas and schedule staff.
* Support sales team with customers, discounts, and queries.
* Ensure resources are always up to date, for example, swatches and spec sheets.
* Keep records of time sheets and annual leave.
* Sell furniture during busy periods.
This position requires weekends on a rota and bank holidays. The employee will be required to unlock and lock the store.
Skills:
* Proven experience in sales management or a similar role.
* Ability to sell high ticket items with a proven track record.
* Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
* Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to present ideas and information clearly and confidently.
