Chelmer Medical Partnership has the opportunity for a healthcare assistant (HCA) to join our forward thinking, friendly practice in this vital patient-facing role with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role is offered on a part-time basis, 25-30 hours per week and is to work across three of our surgeries. The three sites are, Humber Road Surgery, Melbourne House Surgery and Tennyson House Surgery. Day to day, the HCA will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. Duties will include the following; Phlebotomy. ECGs. Diabetic health checks. Flu vaccinations. Simple wound care. Dressings. B12 vaccinations. The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience, skills and competence, requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. About the Candidate The healthcare assistant role within general practice can be very different to the role within other settings so all applicants should have the following; Essential: Previous experience working within primary care. Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills. Motivated and enthusiastic. Confidential manner with a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues. Ability to work independently, determining own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organisational and time management skills.
