Owned and run by Ruth Rogers, there is a family feel among the team but also one of continuous learning and hard work. The restaurant is known for its use of the highest quality, seasonal produce to create simple but delicious food. It has a Michelin star and has many famous alumni such as Jamie Oliver.
Overview of the role
This is a wonderful opportunity for a people focussed, HR professional to come into a stand-alone role as HR Manager, shaping all areas of HR in a demanding but pleasurable environment.
Key responsibilities
* Work closely with the Management Team and other line managers providing expert guidance on the full range of HR matters.
* Lead on a variety of employee relations matters including employment contract terms, absence/ill health and performance.
* Conduct day-to-day HR administration such as producing offer letters, contracts, checking right to work, requesting references, onboarding, doing amendments to contracts, ensuring probation reviews are completed, leaver paperwork and filing. Also responding to everyday HR queries in person or via email.
* Support the Management Team to ensure they are informed and consulted (where appropriate) on reward for all staff, and coordinate/report on executive remuneration where necessary.
* Support Managers in administering the recruitment process, assisting in interviewing where appropriate and supporting managers on selection; recommending changes, inducting employees.
* Build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally including negotiating terms with external agencies, employment lawyers and other professional advisors as required.
* Support organisational change and provide advice regarding restructures and change management processes, including preparing documents and conducting staff consultations.
* Ensure provision of staff wellbeing initiatives, monitor trends in staff turnover and sickness absence.
* Promote commitment to learning and development amongst managers and staff.
Person specification
* An experienced, highly motivated, senior HR generalist, People manager or Business Partner hungry to take on a new challenge.
* CIPD accreditation from Level 5 and above is desirable but relevant experience and passion will be taken into consideration.
* High levels of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
* Self-motivated, proactive, driven and passionate about what we do.
* Great communication skills and a friendly person who can build rapport and is happy to help the restaurant and Head Office teams.
* Experience working in hospitality is a must.
* A desire to drive continuous improvement as there are a number of HR projects to be completed.
* Willing to work the hours necessary to support the team and get the job done to a high standard.
* Happy to do administrative as well as advisory and strategic HR work.
