CLdN Ports Liverpool wish to recruit a Workshop Engineer to work within our busy workshop and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work. The role To service, inspect, clean and repair all terminal equipment including terminal tractors, forklift trucks, goosenecks and any other associated port equipment. You will follow scheduled maintenance and inspection plans within the guidelines of the individual port equipment. To produce high quality repairs to all equipment ensuring policy compliance, correct application of repair procedures and engineering principles. You will be required to clearly and correctly record any details of inspections and repairs carried out to any machinery both digitally and on paper. Liaise with Terminal Managers and Supervisors on the maintenance activities of equipment to minimise disturbance to operations. To embrace the development and introduction of policies and procedures to improve expenditure, efficiency and safety of the engineering department. To book out any parts used and order any non-stock items as required and authorised. Assist in conducting training and development of apprentices and / or inexperienced fitters. Ensure all tools utilised in the workshop are safe and serviceable, highlighting any problems to the Workshop Management. To be flexible and dynamic in your work ethic and approach to meet demand. You will also be required to use various/ bespoke IT programs. Your profile Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3 in an Engineering practice or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or have equivalent experience of working on a Port Terminal. It is important that you have a good work ethic with good organisational skills and a positive approach to working safely. You will have previous experience in a similar role working with heavy plant and machinery. It is essential that you have a pro-active approach towards problem solving, workload and time management with a good knowledge of Health and Safety. You will have good interpersonal and communication skills as well as proficiency with bespoke and Microsoft systems Ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight time-scales in accordance with company policies. You must be able to work within a team. A flexible approach to work is necessary as you will be expected to cover when required.
