The neonatal and maternity operations and performance manager is a new role at UHD and is key to delivering our Trust strategy of aligning these two core services.
The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership and management for both clinical and non-clinical team members. They will ensure resources are available for clinical teams to deliver safe and effective care and are encouraged to find innovative new ways of working.
The neonatal and maternity services are currently planning a move to the new building in Bournemouth and this post holder will be involved in ensuring this is safely managed.

In conjunction with the General Manager for Women and Children, the post holder will work in collaboration with the Director of Midwifery, Head of Midwifery, Neonatal Matron and Clinical Lead to ensure that resources are available and utilised effectively to provide high standards of service, teaching and research, in this family-centred environment .
Close collaboration with Finance, HR, Business Intelligence and other central departments will be critical to ensuring each service functions effectively. They will be expected to have good attention to detail and be able to trouble shoot specific issues and work independently.
They will have a role in ensuring accurate data collection and submission which is reported both internally and externally. They will develop relationships with the neonatal ODN, ICB and wider stakeholders to ensure UHD reporting is accurate and timely. They will be required to undertake analysis and interpretation of a wide range of complex information, to continuously monitor clinical and financial performance.
The post-holder will be expected to take forward agreed projects to improve service delivery in key areas. Fostering effective working relationships with clinical teams and ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to service provision and planning will be critical.

There is a planned move for this service anticipated during April 2024 when thisrole and base of work will relocate toBournemouth site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
