If this sounds like something that excites you, then read on to learn more about working at camp. The Role The Head Counsellor role is a leadership role at Camp Cooper. We are looking for experienced Camp Counsellors / Youth Workers who are looking for a new role at Summer Camp. The Head Counsellor is responsible for managing the Camp Counsellors and assisting with all aspects of running the Camp. Head Counsellors will need to be fantastic role models, leaders, and mentors, capable of building strong relationships and teaching key skills to ensure Counsellors excel at their roles. The role is well-suited for those seeking a new challenge or extra responsibility at Camp. Head Counsellors will manage cabin groups, oversee the pastoral care of campers, and ensure the electives run smoothly with well-prepared curriculum and daily debriefings with activity Counsellors. All Leadership Team members must be prepared to step in to fill other positions as needed and seek opportunities to enhance the camp experience. Key Responsibilities: Managing Camp Counsellors Running Staff Meetings Dealing with camper issues such as homesickness, arguments, and challenging behavior Scheduling activities Helping run large events Assisting in the office and organizing Camp logistics Writing and providing staff evaluations Responsible for the elective activity programme Supporting Counsellors in delivering elective activities Ensuring safety and organization of equipment for electives Please note this is a residential role with full room and board included for the duration of the contract.
