Role/ Department:
This role is within Northern Trust’s growing UK Fund Accounting team. This team looks after more than 10% of all UK Authorised Funds for numerous Fund Management clients. Within the Department, the Funds are split by Client. This role is for oversight of our offshore locations and servicing the clients’ needs relating to the NAV process. The successful applicant will have exposure to a range of products.
This specialist role will report to the Head of NAV Oversight alongside three Managers running NAV Oversight teams. They will be focusing on operational readiness for the NAV Oversight and Production teams for new clients and existing client change.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
* Lead and assist the team with NAV change through governance and project management.
* Provide clear status updates on change inflight back to the Change Team.
* SME knowledge expected on UK OEICS, equities, bonds, pooling funds, and pension schemes.
* Required to learn multiple clients' nuances to ensure SME resource.
* Attend client meetings as the SME to discuss client change.
* For projects impacting NAV Oversight, represent as business lead, requiring you to recognize the risks and business constraints to the process.
* Work with the offshore team as an escalation point on projects impacting the end-to-end NAV process.
Skills / Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge and experience of Fund Accounting.
* Detailed understanding of the industry and Northern Trust, in particular, NT’s systems, infrastructure, and process/data flows.
* Strong communication, first-class presentation, and internal and external client-servicing skills.
* Excellent Project Management skills.
Qualifications:
* Project Management qualifications advantageous (e.g. PRINCE2).
* Completed modules in the IOC (or industry standard equivalent).
* Complies with the company's policy on educational standards.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
* Experience in a Fund Accounting role; production experience is an advantage.
* Management skills to work within a global team.
* Ability to multitask to achieve deadlines for client deliverables.
* Knowledge of the FCA regulations pertaining to Unit Trusts, Mutual Funds, OEICs, and all the above-mentioned fund types, i.e., COLL.
* Good interpersonal skills for liaising with other team members, internal departments, trustees/depositaries, custodians, auditors, offshore locations, and the Fund Management Companies we provide a service to.
* Disciplined, authoritative, and determined.
* Identifies solutions as well as issues.
* Ability to prioritize workloads effectively.
* Takes initiative to improve areas outside of immediate responsibilities.
