Our team in Stoke on Trent are recruiting for a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. Criminal Justice Recovery Workers provide interventions for people who have involvement with the criminal justice system. The team works collaboratively with other services including probation & prison services, this is a varied role working both in the office and various locations throughout Stoke on Trent. Our Recovery Workers work with our clients to help them to determine what their goals, ambitions and passions are, working with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to get them back onto the path to recovery.
This is an integral role for With You - you will manage an active caseload of clients, connecting quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend work on a rota basis.
You will be a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. We’re looking for demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, ideally with those with substance misuse issues. We will provide you with the training and support that you need to develop in your role so whilst experience is preferred it is not essential, please make sure to demonstrate your interest in the position and your transferable skills in your application.
You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a team to ensure a high quality service is maintained. Required Skills
To be successful in this role, you will:
1. have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
2. have some experience of working in a health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting
3. have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
4. be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
5. be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
6. have good oral and written communication skills
7. be comfortable using IT and digital media
8. be organised and able to manage your time effectively
9. able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
10. be happy to support other With You locations when needed
Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check. This post is also subject to security clearance of an enhanced check by Staffordshire Police. This is due to the nature of the role and the requirement to work out of both custody and Police premises.
