Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Acute Paediatrics with sub-specialty interest in Paediatric Eating Disorders (8 PAs) to join our Acute Paediatric Team.
This is a unique post which has partial funding from CPFT to support the eating disorder service. The postholder will have responsibility for the care and management of children and young people with eating disorders both in the community and on the inpatient wards. This will include outreach work with the CAMHS eating disorder team.
There will also be a commitment to the acute paediatric service at Addenbrookes. By joining us, you will enhance our Acute Paediatric team who are dedicated to promoting the Cambridge Childrens Hospital vision of integrating physical and mental health services.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will share our enthusiasm for continuous improvement, excellent care and job satisfaction. The rota is 1:10 and covers clinics, acute consultant of the week, weekends and 5-10pm M-F evening shift followed by on-call duties from home.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Paediatrics or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Leadership is a key requirement of doctors’ professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.
Working for your organisation
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
