Apprentice - Building Services Engineering & Maintenance Engineer
We are currently seeking a Building Services Engineering & Maintenance Apprentice Engineer to join our team in London. This apprenticeship program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience and expand their knowledge in the field of Building Services engineering on a four-year program. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the apprentice will support various electrical, mechanical, plumbing & fabric engineering projects across our portfolio of commercial real estate properties whilst working towards becoming a qualified engineer.
The role will require 4 days per week in our offices and one day per week at college. You will work towards the Level 3 Building Services Engineering & Maintenance Engineer Qualification.
What your day-to-day will look like:
1. Assist engineers with the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in commercial buildings.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including routine inspections and testing of electrical & mechanical equipment.
3. Utilize diagnostic & fault-finding techniques.
4. Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
5. Engage in maintenance planning & activity.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in building engineering and recommend process improvements.
This isn’t a complete list and there may be other responsibilities you take on as required. Don’t worry though; these tasks will be reasonable to your developing skillset, and you’ll be fully supported! We want to help you learn new skills, so if you have the passion to do more, then we’ll do our best to help you get there!
Desired Skills, Qualities, and Experience:
1. Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above. A grade 5 in Maths and Science is required for this role.
2. Enthusiastic and passionate about a career in engineering.
3. Eager to develop new skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
5. Good level of attendance, self-discipline, and time management. Meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks effectively.
6. There is a minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
7. You may be required to complete a DBS check, at either basic or enhanced level, depending on the location you will be working in.
