We are seeking experienced Event Chefs for private events held in and around Boston. Previous experience working in catering or in a front facing culinary position is required. We are looking for motivated individuals that will have a good attitude, a good sense of time management and be comfortable working on a team. Hours will vary depending on the start time of events each week.
Qualifications:
1. Must be able to work respectfully and cooperatively with others
2. Must have reliable transportation to the Boston & Cambridge area
3. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs & stand for long periods of time
4. Must be knowledgeable of common allergens & cooking techniques
5. Must be able to work in a smaller kitchen
6. Must be able to go up and down stairs throughout a shift
Responsibilities:
On a typical day, the chef will arrive on site with a team of 2-5 people, depending on the guest count and event. Most of these events are 4-8 hours long and held on 4 boats that circle the Boston Harbor. Menus will vary based on the events but can contain anything from light passed appetizers to a wedding buffet. After completion of the event, the team will breakdown and load out together.
