Head of Sales (Engineering)

Salary: up to A GBP 80,000 Basic
Working hours: 8.00am : 5.00pm (Monday : Thursday), Friday 08:00 : 2.30pm.
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is hiring on behalf of their client for a Head of Sales (Engineering and Manufacturing) based in Crewkerne, Somerset. The role is fully office:based.
About the client: They are a company with traditions and heritage, but also forward:thinking and constantly evolving to meet the demands of an ever:changing business environment. Their designs are used in a wide number of applications across multiple sectors, working with many companies across the world with a focus on medium to large manufacturers.
THE ROLE
With the business in a strong position to drive growth both in their existing markets and new areas, particularly given the development of a new product giving specific differentiation from the competitor base. The new Head of Sales will be expected to proactively drive sales in a hands on manner, being particularly focussed on developing and growing customer relationships.
DUTIES OF THE HEAD OF SALES:
* A demonstrable understanding of a consultative, customer focused sales approach.
* Highly proactive : able to take the lead in generating new business through direct engagement with customers
* A strong technical background : able to manage a highly technical sell, often dealing with engineers as well as commercial stakeholders
* Previous Sales Management experience, ideally with experience in power transmission and control.
* Experience of managing the entire sales process from prospecting, making contact, right through to completion and delivery.
* Experience of working with and generating sales with OEMs
* An excellent people manager, able to support and develop the existing sales team and grow a high performing sales organisation.
* International experience. Particularly in major European markets. Able to both sell in Europe and manage remote employees.
* Highly proactive and comfortable driving sales using up to date technologies and techniques.
* Able to bring quick results and hit the ground running due to an established relevant network of contacts
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Candidates will be considered from a range of manufacturing backgrounds. It would be helpful to have knowledge of motors and transmissions, although this is not essential.
* Commercially sound. Able to take sensible commercial decisions and focus on revenue.
* A strong team player, able to work effectively with colleagues and various stakeholders within complex customers.
* Locally based and willing to be office based, whilst also happy to commit to UK, European and potentially global travel.
