If so, this may be the right job for you You will be working directly with sewerage dealing with a wide range of issues on our network, including blockages, odours, flooding and pollution incidents. You will be required to take ownership for investigating and offering first time resolutions for issues encountered by our customers, as well as responding to incidents, and completing planned maintenance work, accurately collating and recording all feedback from site through our IT systems. You will be predominately lone working, engaging with both our internal and external customers on a daily basis. You will become trained in the operation of a single man, high pressure water jetting unit, as well as CCTV equipment which will help you to identify & promote repair work for any problems found. This role is working across both the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire area including St Neots and Corby. The role requires prompt action in response to reactive work and a significant input into planned activities. What does it take to be a Field Technician? The ideal applicant will have the following attributes: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent Full driving license Exposure within the sewerage environment is desirable but not essential Basic IT skills Able to work on you own and ability to use your own initiative Excellent customer service skills Great communication skills Our sewerage network operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Flexibility is key as you will be rostered to work 37 hours per week over 4 days, be required to complete a local standby rota, and be available for additional out of hours work when required, including weekends and evening work. This means that the role would most likely suit someone living in or near the Corby, Northampton, Bedford area a nd has a flexible approach to working hours. If successful in your application, you will benefit from access to a company vehicle, so a full UK driving licence is essential (preferably with an entitlement to drive vehicles up to 4.5 tons).
