Job Title: Associate Ecologist
Location: Exeter
Passionate about botany, habitat management, and its real-world application? Our client is searching for a biodiversity net gain expert to steer initiatives across a national team.
Duties include:
1. Overseeing the technical quality of outputs
2. Stepping up as the Project Director for larger or more intricate ventures
3. Embodying a proactive stance in technical leadership
4. Championing your area of expertise, staying updated with the latest trends, and sharing insights with the team
5. Playing a pivotal role in internal training initiatives
6. Mentoring and collaborating with members across
7. Enhancing work quality by collaborating across disciplines and with contractors
You'll also take on the challenge of steering intricate projects right from their inception to the final touches. This encompasses everything from Preliminary Ecology Appraisals to Management Plans and Method Statements.
Requirements:
1. Top academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences
2. Excellent survey skills, including extended Phase I, protected species surveys (with at least one licence or specialism) and/or botanical survey(s)
3. To be a CIEEM member working towards Chartership
4. Experience with EIA and HRA
5. Strong report writing and reviewing capabilities
6. A solid grasp of the legislative and planning policy framework
7. The ability to take the lead as a Project Director on larger projects, ensuring their timely and successful delivery
8. Confidence in liaising with statutory bodies and LPAs
9. To be an enthusiastic team player, always ready to pitch in and collaborate
10. A commitment to the pursuit of excellence in all tasks
11. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
12. A full UK driving licence
