About the roleAs a Senior Technical Specification Developer (24 Month FTC), you will be supporting the strategic migration of policies from legacy systems into Guidewire PolicyCenter. You’ll be the crucial link between business requirements and development delivery, understanding complex data structures, translating them into consistent technical specifications, and guiding the dev team on how to extract and process data in a repeatable, performant, and scalable way. Your main focus will be designing and prescribing how data should be extracted from the legacy system, ensuring that developers implement solutions in a standardised and efficient manner. This helps avoid duplication of effort and achieves consistent and stable outcomes across the workstream. You’ll review and analyse technical system requirements, challenge existing designs where needed, and recommend improvements to ensure effective data movement. While the role is highly technical, collaboration will be key as you work closely with developers, business analysts and other project stakeholders to support successful policy migration. You’ll also be a key contributor to maintaining best practices across the team, supporting developers as they follow your technical specs and providing guidance where necessary. You'll play a key role in supporting the team by reviewing and QAing code, mentoring junior developers, and occasionally getting hands-on with coding when needed. Whether it's troubleshooting issues, refining existing code, or guiding best practices, your expertise will help ensure high-quality, reliable solutions across the team.
