Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Scientist to join the team. The post holder is expected to be a postdoctoral scientist who will utilise their specialist scientist expertise in genomics to plan, participate and lead on genomic service development. The focus of this post is to lead on developing high throughput pharmacogenomic testing to fulfil the national NHSE genomic test directory requirements. This is a full-time, 18 month fixed term post based at the Liverpool site of the North West Genomic Laboratory Hub. Main duties of the job The role will include: (i) Evaluation of published developments and innovations and their transfer into clinical practice. (ii) Project supervision including training staff, trainees, visitors and students. (ii) Evaluation and implementation of new methods, technologies and equipment. (iv) Verification and validation of new clinical diagnostic assays to a standard which permits their diagnostic application in both rare disease and cancer genomics.
