Reporting to the Director of Product of Platform, you will be part of our Product Strategy team based in our Belfast Office. What You’ll Be Doing - the day to day You will be instrumental in how we build innovative software, in close collaboration with team members in Product Management, Engineering and beyond: Serve as the customer expert for the development team and always keeping customer needs at the forefront of everyone’s mind Interpret high level business clinical and performance improvement data requirements to create feature requirements, user stories, and relevant product backlog items which help solve some of the most exciting problems for our clients Conduct analysis work and collaborate with developers and designers to understand and fine tune our backlog items ripe for the execution phase, including the creation of acceptance criteria Support the prioritization and grooming of a product backlog, acting as the Product Owner in an agile development team Help define releases as a collection of new/incremental features, architectural improvements, and allocations for technical debt. Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners and UX Designers to ensure all features are built in a consistent and intuitive way that facilitates interoperability and data insights between different ESO products Perform user acceptance testing to ensure releases achieve the stated goals and pass ESO’s high quality standards, in line with ESO’s mission Receive mentorship from seasoned product leaders, and formal product trainings & certifications, to take advantage of growth opportunities Regularly interact with ESO customers to solicit input as part of Continuous Product Discovery Who You Are - the essentials (Some of the things required to be successful in the role): 3 years’ experience working in Product Management roles (e.g., Business Analyst, Product Owner) in dynamic software companies History working closely with design and development teams and ability to work collaboratively to achieve results Experience delving into the details and capability of considering the bigger picture Comfortable discussing creative ideas, new technology and user experience Understanding of agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and release planning Significant experience authoring and managing agile user stories from the user perspective Strong written communication skills, especially making complicated user stories and acceptance criteria easy to understand Proficiency in commonly used product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Miro or similar) Willingness to learn and grow every day to make a difference Comfortable with proactively and regularly communicating with customers, both in written form and on video calls Who You Are – the desirables (It’s a plus if you have): Formal product management training (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Pragmatic Institute, etc.) Demonstrated interest in healthcare technology or healthcare service delivery Experience in a fast-growing enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology company, ideally in a mission-critical environment where quality matters Track record of software innovation in digital technology Academic degree in a related field (software engineering, computer science, business information systems, clinical informatics, biomedical informatics, etc.) Experience working in intercultural environments and collaborating with diverse teams Fluency in data-related terminology around reporting, databases, or data engineering Practical experience analysing large amounts of data in tools like Excel, Python, or SQL Familiarity with entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) and relational database concepts Benefits & Perks You will have fantastic benefits at ESO including but not limited to: Life insurance (4 x base salary) Income protection insurance A generous pension contribution Private medical insurance including optical and dental A health cash plan Modern City Centre office and a flexible hybrid working policy Annual health and wellness allowance cycle-to-work scheme Enhanced paternity leave and pay, enhanced adoptive pay, enhanced maternity pay Enhanced short and long-term sick pay Great holiday entitlement which increases year on year until you reach 5 years of service About ESO ESO is a fast-paced, growing data, technology and research company passionate about improving community health and safety through the power of data.
