Main duties of the job
An excellent opportunity has arisen for 7 consultants in Gynaecology to join us at the Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust to address the increasing general gynaecology and cancer workload across all our sites.
The candidate is expected to have a broad range of skills. We are also looking to appoint consultants with an interest in minimally invasive gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery/Endometriosis, gynaecology oncology, urogynaecology, and menopause. There is currently a gynaecology on-call component but no obstetric component, which is subject to change as the requirements in the department change.
About us
There will be regular weekend working up to 21 weekends a year (Saturday - further details from line managers). While the main working site will be Royal Free Hospital - Hampstead site, there will be flexible cross-site working to include Barnet General, Chase Farm, Edgware Community, and Finchley Memorial hospitals.
The successful candidate will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team of gynaecologists, specialist nurses, and allied health professionals. The candidate should be keen to work as part of a team and develop good relationships with other staff within and outside of the department. Engagement with innovation, audit, quality improvement, and research will be expected.
Job responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to be fully trained in all aspects of general gynaecology, independent at elective and emergency day case and inpatient gynaecology surgery, and competent at managing gynaecological emergencies including early pregnancy complications.

* MBBS
* MRCOG
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care in gynaecology
* Experienced in outpatient hysteroscopy/Mechanical Tissue removal systems/Resection/Ablation
* Entry onto the Specialist Register (or entry to be within 6 months of expected CCT/CESR date)
Skills and aptitudes
* Ability to work flexibly and communicate within a multidisciplinary team
* Evidence of participation in clinical audit
* Evidence of involvement in a quality improvement project

£105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum + London weighting (on-call Cat A 3%)
