Working on behalf of our client based on a site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. We are currently recruiting for a PLC Engineer for a contract position. Key Duties: Design, develop, and program PLC control systems for water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve PLC and SCADA system issues. Commission and test new PLC installations, ensuring they meet industry and client specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical systems. Provide technical support and training to site operators and maintenance teams. Ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry standards, including health and safety regulations. Participate in site surveys, client meetings, and project reviews to ensure successful project delivery. What we are looking for in the successful candidate: Proven experience working as a PLC Engineer in the water industry (water treatment, wastewater, or distribution systems). Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Schneider experience essential) Experience with SCADA systems and HMI programming. Understanding of water industry processes, control systems, and regulatory requirements. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. Familiarity with instrumentation and telemetry systems in the water industry. Knowledge of networking and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet). Experience in system integration and control panel design.
