Job summary
We are looking for dynamic, highly motivated team players with good organisational skills to join the security and car parking team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
The poster holders will provide a multi skilled service including manned guarding and periodically patrolling of the site to ensure its staff, patients, visitors and property are protected and safe at all times.
The successful candidates must be flexible, approachable with a passion providing exceptional customer service as they will be required to support other staff groups.
The post will be required identifying irregularities, observing CCTV, reacting to activation's of both fire and intruder alarms. You will need to communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors at all times and receive security requests via telephone or pager, taking prompt and appropriate action in a courteous and helpful manner.
From 1st December 2022 all staff working on Agenda for Change Band 2 will be paid £ per hour, which is equivalent to the current Living Wage. Enhanced rates for evenings, weekends and bank holidays still apply.
Main duties of the job
To act as relief Car Park Security Team Office according to the service needs of the Department. To undertake an active operational role as part of the Responsive Security Service under the direction of the Car Park Security Team Leader.
Respond to and investigate any incident where crime (or suspected crime) is being perpetrated on Trust property.
Well practised drills are essential to ensure, regardless of who is on duty, incidents, security actions and other responsibilities can be attended too and completed in a timely and appropriate manner. The situations are followed through and there are processes for closure, completion and debriefs. Throughout, it is essential that appropriate and effective communication is used, to ensure confidence and a coordinated approach by the team.
Ensure accurate information with regards to own whereabouts is maintained and recorded to ensure that immediate contact can be made with other staff in case of emergency.
A key element of the post is to provide a high standard of customer care and service to ensure the correct impression of the Trust and the hospital.
The Post-holder will work under the direction of the Team Leader, but will also be expected to work using the skills pertinent to the position and be able, at all times, to use their own initiative to make informed decisions relating to their work based on the Trust's business needs and the service they provide.
