Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an Allocations Officer for a local authority client based in Berkshire.
In this role, you will provide expert advice on the Council's Allocations Scheme, manage the housing allocation process, and ensure properties are matched to households in line with housing legislation and policies.
Key Duties:
* Offer expert guidance on the Council's Allocations Scheme and ensure compliance with housing legislation and policies.
* Oversee the end-to-end allocation process, including matching households to properties and administering direct matches for priority groups.
* Make decisions on housing register applications, determine band awards, and cross-reference with housing advice approaches.
* Work with Housing Associations to manage the input and allocation of void and new build properties.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Experience with housing systems such as NEC (Northgate), Civica, and Jigsaw in an allocations or housing register context.
* Strong knowledge of housing legislation, allocation schemes, and regulatory compliance.
* Proven ability to manage housing applications, assess eligibility, and allocate properties effectively.
* Experience working with Housing Associations and supporting vulnerable groups, including those with medical or urgent housing needs.
What's on offer:
Salary: £24+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
