Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - Orchard House

This is a replacement post as a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Joining a developing multidisciplinary team in providing a comprehensive child and adolescent mental health service to Leamington Spa and the surrounding rural area.
Main duties of the job
The Post-holder will support the work of the CAMHS and multidisciplinary teams. This will include reviewing patients with the multidisciplinary team, providing advice on complex cases and holding an individual caseload.
This is a strategically important post, including work for patients admitted to Tier 4 hospital. The Post-holder will liaise appropriately with tier 4 colleagues to facilitate the smooth transfer of care in the transitions between urgent and planned care. The Post-holder will be actively involved in shaping and improving the service offered in the community to best meet the needs of users and carers.
The post is based upon 10 programmed activities (PA's) a week, 7.5 for direct clinical care and 2.5 for supporting professional activity.
This post will include participation in the CAMHS Consultant on call rota at an approximate frequency of one in eight with responsibility for:
* Supporting and advising junior doctors when they request this
* Urgent out of hours domiciliary assessments in the context of a Mental Health Act assessment
* Assessments at local police stations

Job responsibilities
Criteria to apply include GMC registration and inclusion on the specialist register in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The post holder must also be eligible for Approved Clinician Status and be Section 12 approved.
