Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it's the reason our teams push themselves to transform the lives of children and families – in person, in services nationwide, and through the knowledge they share. We are looking to recruit a Strategic Service Manager - Partnerships and Development. This is a new post which will sit within the Services Directorate. The Partnerships and Development department brings together a range of direct services we deliver in partnership with other agencies and with our community partners. Working with others, we are creating learning and modelling how we can change systems, support the most vulnerable children and families, and build communities that nurture children. The purpose of this newly created role is to work with the leadership team in order to lead the development of services and strengthen partnership and collaboration with external partners. You will lead a team of development staff, working with colleagues, partners and communities to develop new activities, services and interventions for children, families and communities, and to ensure these are robustly implemented, based on evidence, and with fidelity to principles established through research. You will engage in public policy and communications work, representing the NSPCC in senior and strategic forums, and working with colleagues and Heads of Development to develop solutions that can change practice and policy to prevent child-abuse through systems change, collaboration and spread evidence-based programmes. The main duties and responsibilities are detailed in the job description. We are looking for someone with significant knowledge and experience of delivering successful service development projects and programmes for the protection of children, including an expert grasp of research and policy relating to children. We would expect you to have detailed and current knowledge of child protection systems and children and adult services across the UK. You will have proven ability in public policy development, including evidence of successfully influencing at a senior level, along with effective team working and the ability to integrate principles of diversity and inclusion. Finally, we require exemplary interpersonal and analytical abilities, along with excellent oral and written communication skills, including public presentations, report writing and media skills. Join us and you'll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You'll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that'll bring the best out in you. And you'll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts the lives of vulnerable children. For more information about this role please contact Matt.FordeNSPCC.org.uk
