Account Manager
Salary: £34,500 - £35,000 plus commission and travel expenses paid
Location: Portsmouth (hybrid work available; must be able to travel independently to meet clients)
Hours of work: Full time, Monday to Friday
Dynamite Recruitment is working in partnership with a very well-established business based in Portsmouth. Due to growth plans, our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager to join their team.
The role focuses on maintaining high levels of client retention, identifying upsell opportunities, and driving revenue growth through cross-selling additional solutions. As an Account Manager, you will act as the main point of contact for existing clients, managing contract renewals, addressing client needs, and ensuring that exceptional service is provided at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management:
Act as the primary contact for key accounts, cultivating strong relationships with clients at multiple levels within their organisation. Understand client business goals, objectives, and challenges, ensuring that company solutions align with their needs and provide ongoing value. Actively engage with clients through regular meetings, check-ins, and communications to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
2. Upselling & Cross-Selling:
Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional solutions that enhance the client’s experience and address their evolving needs.
3. Client Retention & Success:
Implement retention strategies, including proactive outreach, client success initiatives, and tailored support, to ensure long-term loyalty.
4. Contract Management & Renewals:
Manage contract renewals, ensuring timely negotiation and agreement of terms that benefit both the client and the company. Maintain a clear understanding of contract terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and client-specific requirements to ensure full compliance and client satisfaction.
5. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
Act as the client advocate, ensuring any challenges or concerns are resolved quickly and effectively. Work closely with internal teams, including support, operations, and product development, to address client issues and ensure a seamless experience.
6. Collaboration & Internal Communication:
Work with marketing and sales teams to develop targeted campaigns and materials that support upsell initiatives.
7. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Analyse account data to understand usage trends, renewal patterns, and upsell potential.
8. Client Review Meetings:
The Ideal Account Manager Will Have:
1. Proven experience in an account management or client success role.
2. Strong ability to build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and business challenges.
3. Demonstrated success in upselling and cross-selling additional services to clients.
4. Experience managing contract renewals and ensuring high client retention rates.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence clients at all levels.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly address client issues and deliver effective solutions.
7. A customer-first mindset, focusing on delivering exceptional service and value to clients.
8. High level of organisation and attention to detail, especially in managing multiple client relationships and contract renewals.
9. Previous experience within the software or technology sectors would be advantageous but not essential.
