Assistant Project Manager (Fuse Rail) – Conductor Rail Equipment (CRE, ETE, ETM)
The Assistant Project Manager (Fuse Rail) – Conductor Rail Equipment (CRE, ETE, ETM) provides support to the Project Managers and organizes and motivates the team to ensure work is undertaken safely, efficiently, and to the relevant standards. Direct, organize, and motivate the team so that work is completed safely and efficiently. Undertake inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal work as allocated and directed.

Responsibilities
1. Direct the development of maintenance, construction, design, and project works to meet key business objectives.
2. Maintain effective assurance to control risks and enable maintenance, construction design, and project work to be completed in compliance with standards, performance, and business processes.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key senior customers, stakeholders, and suppliers within the Infrastructure Construction & Engineering (ICE) portfolio.
4. Secure adequate resources and funding to enable efficient and safe delivery of the portfolio.
5. Direct the timely assignment of, and thereafter discharge of, Construction Design Management (CDM) obligations for all projects in the programme.
6. Provide a leadership example in the application of the Fuse Rail Management System and promote continual improvement in business for our clients and employees.
7. Control and check the quality of work undertaken and confirm assets are compliant with standards.
8. Check that the staff and subcontractors under your control have the appropriate and valid competencies.
9. Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials under your control are fit for use and are used, stored, and disposed of correctly.
10. Accurately report all work completed/not completed and produce/maintain records as required.
11. Contribute to your own development and that of others.
12. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
13. Respect the confidentiality of information received and adhere to GDPR.
14. Take responsible care for the health and safety of yourself and other people who may be affected by what you do or do not do at work.
15. Use all equipment in accordance with your training and instruction and report to your Line Manager any defects in plant, equipment, or premises that could present a risk to health and safety.
Experience
1. Proven experience in managing complex large delivery organizations within a Safety Critical environment.
2. Experience in management and leadership with vision and ability to establish effective, collaborative working relationships at all levels to drive cultural and organizational performance.
3. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role and industry.
4. At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role and industry.
5. HNC Engineering Qualification.
6. Membership of a professional engineering body.
7. Excellent use of IT Skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
8. Familiarity with other information management systems.
9. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
10. Presentation skills.
11. Ability to work in an organized and methodical way, paying attention to detail.
12. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
13. Ability to prioritize tasks, work to deadlines, and manage conflicting demands.
14. Must have full access to transport to, from, and during work.
