Responsibilities Co-ordination of all of the ion Ventures planning and permitting activity across the business. Expertise required in at least one key area, e.g. UK planning activity. Assisting with or leading on the preparation of consent applications and advising on the planning aspects of complex schemes, which may include Town and Country Planning, Development Consent Order, Transport and Works Act etc. Managing the pre and post commencement planning process, typically consisting of discharging, and reviewing planning items, preserving existing permissions, and advising on amendment planning applications as required. This includes managing and advising on all planning issues as they arise. Being actively involved in coordination and management of specialist external consultants, public consultations, and report writing. Liaising with design teams, local or national authorities, relevant state bodies and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered and progressed in a timely manner. Reviewing planning applications prior to submission. Liaising with and assisting the Development Team to address findings and foresee any potential planning issues that could arise during the Pre-Construction and Construction phases. Providing expert planning advice to the Development, Delivery and Asset Management teams. Represent the company at external meetings, company or industry events as required. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Experience drafting consenting strategies, engagement strategies, planning reports and managing the preparation of consent applications. Experience working on major energy and infrastructure projects. Familiarity with English, Welsh and Scottish planning particulars. Multi-disciplinary consultancy approach with particular focus in the energy sector. Developing working relationship with consenting authorities and other disciplines within an organisation and also in external forums. Contributing to internal business development/client strategies. Capable of managing a challenging and varying workload. Degree and/or masters in town planning, or any other relevant degree, and preferably a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
