Joining the PMO Team and reporting to the Programme Manager, the Senior Project Manager (SPM) will be responsible for managing the execution of assigned projects in regard to cost, time, quality, and technical performance. The SPM will be the primary Point of Contact (POC) for large national or international, complex projects, and in addition internally funded development projects. Key Responsibilities: Identify and manage communications with all stakeholders both internal and external. Derive, produce, and manage key PM artefacts for the successful management of projects including: Master Schedule, Project Management Plan, SoW/Contract Compliance Matrix, Work Breakdown Structure, Product Breakdown Structure, Product Description Documents, Responsibility Assignment Matrices. Liaise with Engineering Leads and Department Heads to ensure technical processes are followed, critical success-factors are identified and managed and accurate demand for resources/skills requirements is identified. Manage the execution of the project schedule to ensure key events and critical stages such as design reviews, acceptance testing, installation, and training etc occur on time and are successful. Review costs for all assigned projects, reporting errors and budget risks to maintain accurate position going into a monthly reporting cycle. Work with Finance to prepare and update monthly projects reports including management of revenue trading plans, EAC, ETC and forecast margin for presentation to the Senior Leadership Team. Liaise with management team colleagues to ensure appropriate controls are in place for production, data management and retention, invoicing, shipping, and export controls. Coordinate and collect (throughout and at the closure of a project) lessons learned and feedback for process improvement and personnel development. Skills & Experience Essential Recognised project management qualification. At least five to ten years’ experience of working in a project management role. Full knowledge and understanding of the project lifecycle. Background in engineering development, particularly of complex systems and projects ideally within a defence or aerospace industry. Experience of creating and maintaining project plans using Microsoft Project. Maintain personal ability travel within UK and abroad as required (driving licence, passport etc). Experience in working with working and managing international stakeholders Desirable A bachelor’s degree in business, project management or a related field.
