Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations within our hotel/restaurant environment. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary and hospitality sectors, as you will assist with food preparation and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
1. Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, ensuring ingredients are ready for cooking.
2. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and utensils.
3. Wash, dry, and store dishes, pots, and pans efficiently.
4. Ensure that all areas of the kitchen are kept clean and hygienic at all times.
5. Help with inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and reporting shortages.
6. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed.
7. Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
1. Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
2. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial.
3. Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
4. Excellent teamwork skills, with a willingness to help colleagues as needed.
