The Senior Event Manager will be dedicated, creative and ambitious. Being responsible for project managing international event programmes within the 50 Best portfolios but also supporting the operations director in sourcing and securing venues and production agencies.

Its event portfolio now includes The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants, as well as The World’s 50 Best Bars, Asia’s 50 Best Bars and North America’s 50 Best Bars. The team recently launched the inaugural edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels, marking the brand’s first foray into the travel sector.
What you’ll be doing:
* Acting as the company representative for the operations department in a confident and professional manner.
* Collaborating with the Operations Director to select suitable venues for the delivery of 50 Best events and event agencies to build creative event concepts.
* Using task management tools to create and manage project scheduling and key milestones; holding regular key stakeholder meetings, ensuring all elements are carried out on time and in accordance with the critical path and reporting regular updates to the Operations Director.
* Ensuring efficient and sensitive handling of confidential information.
* Ensuring that the timelines created by the Operations Director are achievable and practical, coordinating briefs and debriefs of the team and wider business.
* Organising and leading international recce trips and liaising with venue and attending site visits.
* Being responsible for ensuring that all events run smoothly either by attending on the day or by ‘walking through’ events.
* Delivering events in their entirety as and when required by the business.
* Ensuring the fulfilment of all supplier requirements onsite, such as ensuring all Audio Visual (AV) equipment is in place, overseeing registration of guests, liaising with suppliers, ensuring show is run to time, troubleshoot/problem solve, remaining on site until close, coordinate rehearsal.
* Producing, briefing, managing and delivering all AV specifications, such as booking, briefing and managing event suppliers such as AV, graphics, catering and stand builder.
* Collaborating with other departments within 50 Best to advise on the event program, highlighting any potential issues.
* Overseeing travel and hotel arrangements for staff, speakers and guests for relevant project.
* Managing temporary and onsite staff for your project.
* Proofing, approving, printing and arranging delivery of all event marketing collateral.
* Organising signage and all event documentation.
* Booking and managing talent for relevant projects.
* Sponsor liaison such as writing comprehensive operations manual for sponsors to use as a how-to guide in the lead up to the event and on site, attending sponsor meetings and organising site visits.
* Travelling internationally throughout the year.
Requirements
What you’ll need:
* Excellent time management skills to manage multiple events, and hands-on event experience in awards ceremony and large-scale events.
* Be able to demonstrate and have experience of managing all staff on-site at events.
* To be ambitious, take initiative, be driven and have strong organisational skills.
* Have experience of working in high-pressure environments.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer care skills.
* To be willing to travel internationally, as an individual and work unsociable hours.
* To be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
* IT literacy, specifically including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* International event management is desirable but not essential.
