Salary Base salary: £40,750pa to £54,650pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

We are looking for a number of Project Engineers to work within the HS2 Temporary Works arena to ensure that the Clients obligations under BS5975 Code of practice for temporary works procedures, PAS 8811 Temporary works - Major infrastructure client procedures and The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are properly discharged.
About the role:
* To be responsible for providing technical assurance, as per the HS2 assurance requirements, through production, checking and submission of assurance evidence for technical stage gates.
* To be responsible for assuring that the design and construction of assets comply with the technical and sponsor requirements and applicable standards, specifications, and procedures.
* To be accountable for supporting the Head of Engineering and Environment in discharging their duties of NEC3 Supervisor and Principal Designer Representative as mandated within the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.
* To be accountable for communicating the HS2 Engineering requirements to the IPT contractor and provide responses to technical queries.
* To be responsible for providing guidance on design solutions for the asset, promoting use of best practice and innovative engineering techniques.
* To be responsible for working alongside other technical specialists to develop appropriate and cost-balanced mitigation strategies and solutions.
* Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.
About You:
Skills:
* Complex problem solving – Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
* Decision Making – Able to gather and synthesise information, identifying options and applying sound judgement based on logic and reason.
* Technical Leadership - Specialist technical support and leadership on at least one discipline-specific scientific, technical, or engineering principles.
* Technical Communication - Able to communicate a range of technical ideas in at least one discipline-specific area to colleagues.
* Technical Leadership – Able to apply principles and methods that ensure effective information management, modelling and data security.
Knowledge:
* Applicable UK construction regulations including CDM requirements.
* Understanding of the Regulatory/Legislative Framework relevant to HS2.
* Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery and schedule targets.
* Chartered Engineer/Membership of an appropriate professional institution or working towards with equivalent experience.
Types of Experience:
* Experience in managing standards, engineering, and safety activity on engineering projects/programmes.
* Experience of managing competing project and engineering demands, with cost and schedule implications.
