Finance Manager Role - West Yorkshire
My client, based in West Yorkshire, is seeking a Finance Manager to deliver high-quality reporting, forecasting, and analysis for their indemnity schemes. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance or financial services, with strong finance and commercial experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing the valuation of the indemnity scheme provisions, including handling, modeling, and analyzing complex data sets, working with actuarial advisers (including the Government Actuary’s Department – GAD), and reporting the best estimate of scheme liabilities.
2. Managing and coordinating month-end and year-end activities and supporting related projects.
3. Developing forecasts, full-year outturns, and conducting ad hoc analyses to understand variances, trends, and risks, aiding decision-making.
4. Supporting the production of the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and the external audit process.
5. Participating in reserving cycle activities and managing actions from formal working groups.
You should be a qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) accountant with excellent financial analysis, modeling, and interpretation skills. The ability to understand historical performance, apply forecasting techniques, and assess trends and key assumptions is essential. Additionally, strong planning and organizational skills are required to deliver accurate results on time in a fast-paced environment.
This is a permanent role requiring one day per week in Leeds. The salary range is £50,000 to £57,000.
