Health and Safety Advisor – Civils/Highways
A huge opportunity for an upcoming health and safety professional has been created to continue your Health and Safety career. This client is a market leader in the Civil Engineering sector.
Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will support and implement health and safety across various highways & construction sites in England.
The Location
The role involves a mix of working from home and travelling to sites, so you must have a full UK driver’s license and appreciate that travel is involved but is not excessive.
The Person
You should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a construction/civils health and safety role and hold an NEBOSH certificate or similar, with a good understanding of relevant SHEQ legislation and industry standards.

Key Accountabilities
1. Assist in the development and ongoing review of the Health and Safety for each site.
2. Undertake site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings.
3. Provide support with the identification and management of SHE risks, issues and opportunities.
4. Create site-specific audit and inspection packs.
Monitoring
1. Check that non-compliance reports from both internal and external audits are being adequately closed out with all corrective actions completed.
2. Audit minor works carried out across sites as and when required.
People
1. Keep up to date with knowledge on current SHE Legislation, Best Practice, current thinking on H&S practice and developments related to our business activities.
2. Manage availability to the various sites to ensure that the right level of governance and support is provided.
3. Proactive, engaging and positive attitude to the promotion of SHE excellence.
