Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Supervisor (Civil or M&E) to join a major energy infrastructure project at Necton 400kV Substation. This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with the Site Manager to coordinate and supervise site activities, subcontractors, and ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
*
Supervise civil or M&E works on site, ensuring safe and efficient delivery in line with programme requirements.
*
Monitor subcontractor performance and provide daily site support and guidance.
*
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, site safety standards, and company procedures.
*
Support implementation of Safe Systems of Work and issue Permits to Dig.
*
Assist in maintaining accurate records, producing reports, and updating progress.
*
Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example on site.
*
Assist with quality assurance processes, including the preparation of as-built documentation.
*
Communicate effectively with the Site Manager and wider project team.
*
Support client objectives and contribute to meeting project KPIs.
Essential Requirements
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
National Grid Competent Person – NSI 6 & 8 (Full).
*
SSSTS, SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
*
IOSH Environmental or equivalent.
*
CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.
*
HSG47 qualification.
*
First Aid certified.
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Transmission & Distribution sector, preferably on National Grid projects.
*
Previous supervisory experience in a civil or M&E discipline.
Desirable
*
HNC/HND in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
*
Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor.
*
Impressed Voltage training.
Working Conditions
*
Site-based role requiring the ability to safely move around construction environments for extended periods (up to 10 hours/day).
*
Will involve national travel; candidates must be able to arrange their own travel and accommodation.
*
50 hours per week, with flexibility required depending on project demands.
