You will be required to cover the second 1:7 on-call rota. The timetable will rotate depending upon the Consultant with whom the doctor is working. The post will offer the opportunity for experience in Colposcopy, minimum Access Surgery, Ultrasound and Infertility and Out Patient Hysteroscopy. The post holder will be encouraged to develop a special interest in one of the sub-specialties according to the need of the department and interest of the post holder. SPA will be on Friday afternoons. Long days, nights and weekend cover will be a 1:7 full shift rota. Main duties of the job The post would suit a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of gynaecological and obstetric procedures in this busy DGH. The appointee will be required to attain the requisite number of internal and external hours CME as detailed by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The appointees will be expected to make quarterly CME returns to the RCOG to allow certification as directed by the national body. Regular clinical meetings are held in the department and participation will be expected. The post holder will be expected to work together as a team within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology About us Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital Grimsby and Scunthorpe General Hospital are both well-equipped district general hospitals with A&E, Maternity and Obstetrics, Acute Medicine and Acute Surgery (including Orthopaedics) and Adult and Neonatal Intensive care on both sites. There are well equipped support facilities including a digital radiology PACS system throughout the Trust including MRI and CT at both sites. Isotope studies are performed at Grimsby including Hologic DEXA scanner. Basic EMG and nerve conduction studies are done within the Trust as are lung function studies, cardiac catheterisation and pacemaker implants. Goole District Hospital is a smaller hospital with outpatient facilities, midwife lead maternity unit, a minor injuries unit and in-patient wards for non-acute medicine. It is also a site which performs day case and in- patient surgical procedures for orthopaedic, general surgery, gynaecology and ophthalmology for a large geographic area. The hospital has X-ray facilities linked to the Trust PACS system. There is an Acquired Brain Injury Unit which is run by the ABI charity. The Trust provides Community Services in North Lincolnshire. There are 5 Locality teams comprising District Nurses, Therapists, Social Workers and support staff who work with GPs, mental health, voluntary services and the hospital to provide care for adults in the community.
