Job description General Workshop Engineer Tekhniseal refurbishes, designs, and manufactures mechanical seals, tailored to suit exact customer requirements. The successful candidate for this role will work as part of our small, close-knit team in our workshop, working with handheld tools, lapping machines, lathes, milling machines, and other equipment. Materials that you will be required to machine are, Steel, PTFE and Carbon. The successful candidate will be provided with training on other machines, but experience working with hand-held tools to assemble and disassemble mechanical seals is an advantage. The job is a very varied role within the workshop so you will not be working continuously on one project. Necessary Skills Experience using Manual Lathe, Milling Machine and Band saw Experience working with hand-held tools Previous experience working with mechanical seals is an advantage The ideal candidate will also possess A high attention to detail Experience working with manual tools Computer literacy A good telephone manner The ability to work well as part of a team, as well as independently A strong initiative Problem solving skills, and the ability to be methodical Good organisation, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Responsibilities To recondition mechanical seals Checking of new seals for quality before they are sent to customers To be able to study and work from drawings. Fully competent measuring and cutting steel on band saws to drawings To be competent using all machine shop equipment, which include manual lathe, Milling machine, drills, grinders and all handheld tools (electric and manual) Maintain high standard of housekeeping in workshop Strictly adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials Adhering to established health and safety procedures and policies as well as quality management systems Ad hoc duties - Answering the telephone and taking orders, taking customer orders, assisting customers who come to our Trade Counter, Preparing quotes, sales orders, and purchasing documents, Assisting with stock take when necessary Assisting other members of the team as necessary Details Full time/permanent Working hours: 36.25 per week Monday – Friday, 8.30-4.30 45min lunch break £25-30k - Negotiable, depending on experience. 21 days holiday bank holidays Free on-site car park
