We have a fantastic opportunity as a Head of People Services for you to become a key player within our Executive Management Team, leading on the complete People Services agenda for the business.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you can expect your working day to include the following:
1. Being a Strategic Partner: Act as a key player working alongside the Executive Director and the Executive Management Team to deliver a first-class service to our clients.
2. People Services Excellence and Expertise: Provide valuable advice on all people-related matters including conditions of employment, recruitment, absence management, interpretation of employment legislation, and good practice. You will have overall responsibility for enhancing the employment journey.
3. Workforce Planning: Lead in the development of workforce planning strategy and policies which align with strategic and financial planning.
4. Collaboration with Trade Unions: Develop and maintain effective employee and trade union engagement and communication strategies which facilitate improvement and change.
5. Fostering a High-Performance Culture: Ensure that City Building’s People Services strategy, practices, and policies cultivate a culture of empowerment, quality, talent development, and productivity.
6. Collaboration: Engage and empower the People Services team in the planning and execution of high-impact projects.
7. Leadership Development: Build the leadership capabilities of business area Managers and their deputies by appropriate coaching and mentoring methods to drive exceptional performance across the business.
8. Driving Results: Work in collaboration with Executive Management Team colleagues and Senior Management Team in the delivery of excellent service to our clients and identify innovative solutions that will enhance the customer journey.
9. Employee Wellbeing: Champion employee engagement and wellbeing as the lead in the People Services strategy.
10. EDI Leadership: Lead the charge on our successful EDI strategy, promoting diversity and inclusion throughout our business.
Your key strength lies in nurturing robust professional relationships with stakeholders and becoming a trusted advisor who ensures the seamless implementation of People Services plans.
ABOUT YOU
* Proven experience at a senior level in a dynamic HR role for a minimum of 5 years
* Proven track record of HR leadership and of developing and implementing HR strategy
* Track record in workforce planning and successfully driving and delivering organisational change and improvement
* Experience of implementing various strategic initiatives across an organisation
* Able to forge effective and constructive employee and industrial relationships with Trade Unions
* Solid knowledge of employment legislation, including TUPE regulations
* Project Management Experience
* Excellent communicator with high-level interpersonal and influencing skills
* Track record in successfully delivering change
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
* Understanding of promoting diversity and equality in employment and service delivery
* Innovative with a track record in turning fresh ideas into real-life successes
* Creative and can inspire and influence others
* CIPD qualification essential
