All LMaStudents study Mathematics and Further Mathematics A-Levels. In Year 12 they study two of Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics and Mandarin Chinese, and in Year 13 most LMaStudents continue one of these to A level; some continue to study four subjects.
We are committed to ensuring that every LMaStudent, in particular students with SEND and students who are Widening Participation Eligible,
* has an exceptional experience every day;
* achieves highly and leaves LMaS with many and meaningful choices available to them: in their learning, in their career, in their life.
Our unique, enriched curriculum prepares our students for the next stage of their educational journey. We support them to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes that will enable and empower them to make significant future contributions to this region, to their communities, and to global society.
We moved into our stunning new school in November 2023. This is located in the heart of Leeds, on The Headrow. The facilities for teaching and learning are exceptional, to support our evidence-led and research-informed curriculum and pedagogy. Our ongoing professional development is central to the vision, purpose and day-to-day practice of LMaS.
We welcomed our first cohort of 69 students in September 2023 and 98 students in September 2024. 28% of our current students are female or female-identifying, and 37% are from the most disadvantaged postcodes in the region (IMD deciles 1 and 2). We are determined to increase both these proportions.
