We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Community Phlebotomist to join our community nursing teams covering the Burton upon Trent area.
You will work alongside our District Nursing teams and other Phlebotomists in the Burton area, visiting patients in their homes and residential care homes to undertake venepuncture. 1. Demonstrating accurate, competent technique when taking blood samples from patients, completing laboratory forms clearly and accurately with patient details, and specifying tests requested.
2. Delivering a high-quality venepuncture service in the community, considering the patient’s physical, social, and emotional care needs.
3. Monitoring programmes of care to ensure routine blood tests are carried out regularly and timely.
4. Taking appropriate action relating to any changes in a patient’s condition or circumstances, reporting to the appropriate person without delay.
5. Undertaking venepuncture for patients as requested by the ILCT, GPs, and secondary care.
6. Working without direct supervision, organizing your own workload and frequently working under pressure to accommodate appointment times.
7. Maintaining accurate records as required by Trust policy, providing evidence of high-quality record-keeping skills.
By joining Team MPFT, you will be helping your communities, and in return, we will support you by:
1. Supporting your career development and progression.
2. Providing an excellent NHS Pension scheme.
3. Offering generous maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
4. Providing options for flexible working.
5. Offering up to 27 days annual leave (increasing with service up to 33 days) and the opportunity to purchase additional leave.
6. Paying for your time travelling between patients if you work in our community teams.
7. Offering a lease car if you complete more than 500 business miles per annum, fully insured and maintained (including tyres), with mileage paid at the lease car rate.
8. Providing a salary sacrifice car option, where your gross pay is reduced by the cost of the vehicle before tax, NI, and pension deductions are calculated, with mileage paid at business rates.
And more. We are proud to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and there are staff networks that help you meet like-minded people.
