Titan are currently working with a very successful manufacturing company based in Dumbarton who are looking for a Welding Team Leader to join their team
The purpose of the role is to ensure that all operating and manufacturing activity is executed in a safe and efficient manner and that appropriate people, materials and services are available. You will provide line and performance management to teams and ensure manufacturing and operation schedules are met which enables delivery of the production plan.
Role responsibilities -
* Provide leadership on HSE to the team, ensuring no harm to people, equipment or environment
* Lead implementation of the plan on shift, ensuring changes to plan are controlled and optimal
* Ensure high standard of communication is maintained across all levels of the organisation
* Provide technical assistance as required to maintain and improve safety, production and quality
* Manages team and individual performance, coaching and developing team members
* Provide quality assurance on work executed and completed on site
* Manage work priorities to deliver real performance improvements in a busy and demanding work environment
* Use broad engineering and technical skills to assist with fault finding and challenging unnecessary activities
* Ensure all near misses, incidents are reported, and adequately investigated and suitable actions are put in place and any immediate learning is communicated
* Ensure compliance with procedures in support of Quality Management Systems
* Accountable for final decisions on whether machinery or equipment can operate
* Manage absence and attendance, including conducting return to work interviews
* Experience in TIG/MAG and GMAW
* Strong welding, pipework assembly and fabricating background
* CSWIP 3.1 (Preferrable or willing to work towards)
* Good understanding of NDE processes i.e Penetrant Testing, Radiographic Testing, Visual Inspection and Post Weld Heat Treatment
Requirements -
* Recognised welding apprenticeship
* Supervisory or Leadership experience of leading teams in a manufacturing environment
* IOSH Certificate (Preferred)
* Must have personal commitment to safety and environmental standards
* Strong IT, communication and team working skills
* Ability to coach and develop individuals to achieve quality plans
* Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance
Previous experience within a similar environment is essential
The company offers a great working environment, working Monday to Friday (early finish on a Friday!)
