We are looking to recruit a Peer Support Worker to work across our Early Intervention in Psychosis Service and our At Risk Mental State teams.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Peer Support Worker, who has lived experience of Psychosis to join the Mid Essex First Episode Psychosis Team and At Risk Mental state team, nominally based at The Gables in Braintree, but with the expectation of working across other bases in Mid Essex.
This is an exciting time to join these dynamic services. Within this role the postholder will be using their lived experience of psychosis to support people and their families to make sense and navigate their experiences with the support of a full Multi-disciplinary team. The role covers the geographical locality of Mid Essex and the post holder will be expected to travel independently within this area. The team uses a Multi-disciplinary approach to provide care, promote recovery and social inclusion to people from the age of 14-65 years are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, a First Episode Psychosis.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

We are seeking individuals who are caring, empathetic, who have a positive outlook and seek to support others in their recovery. You will be supporting people and their families with the assistance of their allocated Care Co-ordinator and are expected to be able to share your experiences of psychosis and your recovery with others and promote social inclusion working with wider community partners. Working as part of an MDT and contributing actively to the clinical care of people and their families, you will support with recording on the clinical record system your contacts and supporting manage the risk of those receiving a service from these two teams.
Close supervision and support from the Clinical Manager for the team will be provided.
Consideration would be given to part-time/job share and flexibility with working hours may be possible.
