Optimization Functional Test SME
Whitehall Resources require an Optimization Functional Test SME to work with a key client on a 6 month initial contract.
*Inside IR35.
*This role will involve on site work in Wokingham 2-3 days per week.
Role description:
As an Optimisation Test SME in the Balancing Transformation programme, you will work with Business and QA and Developers to support the testing for Optimization algorithm that will be deployed. You will be working in a team of experts, engaging with the IT and the business in an Agile delivery environment, to deploy solutions in a state-of-the-art cloud-native IT platform.
Key responsibilities:
1. Work with the project team and the customer team on the Dispatch algorithm as part of Balancing Transformation programs
2. Support in Quality Assurance and Development of Modern Optimisation Algorithm
3. Coordinate with different functional teams and Business to review and test Scenarios
4. Perform the exploratory test on and find the defects and observation
5. Help in the development for requirement tools and automation of testing the algorithm
Key skills/knowledge/experience:
1. Has solid coding skills in Python
2. Test Automation skill using Python, Java, Selenium
3. Experience solving the optimization problem using various techniques
4. Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
5. Strong Understanding of mathematical programming solver available for your LP, QP and MIP (MILP, MIQP, and MIQCP) problems
6. Understanding of data collection, preprocessing and analysis
7. Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
8. Python, Gurobi Optimizer
9. Optimization problem Solving
Person specification:
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical / or computer engineering or similar technical domain
