We’re seeking a Ergonomics Lead to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our Human Factors Lead You will be responsible for end-to-end ergonomics delivery for one vehicle programme. You will be the voice of the human user and make sure everything we do is uncompromisingly human-centric. You will lead activities to benchmark competitor vehicles to objectively understand and set quantifiable ergonomic targets. You will conduct virtual studies using RAMSIS to evaluate ergonomic performance of the entire vehicle and provide meaningful and actionable recommendations for vehicle improvements. You will evaluate physical properties with full-scale customer/user clinics in ergonomic packaging bucks and vehicle prototypes. The role will require your deep technical expertise in human simulation (i.e., RAMSIS) and hands-on research methods (e.g., BUCK evaluation and user testing) along with strong programme management skills to ensure evaluations are planned and actioned ahead of required engineering gateways. Collaboration is key, and you will be working closely with a world-class vehicle architecture team as well as key stakeholders in product and design teams to deliver on the ergonomics attribute. This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from out of our offices in Leamington Spa. What you’ll do Develop and maintain ergonomics sub attribute items (L3-L5) for one vehicle programme Create and maintain benchmarking data for competitor vehicles in relation to ergonomics and occupant packaging Set and track ergonomic targets, integrating with the architecture team and track hard points in comparison to ergonomic evidence Complete virtual ergonomic assessments using Ramsis to evaluate and propose improvements to the vehicle. Plan and conduct hands-on research in packaging BUCK's and on physical properties. Translate ergonomic best practice and research into objective guidelines to support design and development of our vehicles Develop and execute an ergonomics design validation plan to ensure no part of the ergonomic experience is missed and delivered in time for engineering gateways Support other teams, such as Lifestyle Products in providing ergonomic guidance for innovations and assessments of new features with regard to human interaction Who you are Essential Enthusiastic for the science of ergonomics, strongly data oriented, and uncompromisingly human-centric Highly experienced and an expert user of Ramsis. Significant experience specifically in automotive ergonomics with the ability o plan and conduct scientific and valid assessment of human behaviour Degree required in a subject akin to engineering, ergonomics, human factors, psychology, physiology, or human sciences. OR significant experience in ergonomics research. Ability to communicate with, and manage stakeholders to influence change towards achieving our ergonomic targets Desirable: Understanding of attribute management process preferred and ability to develop a design validation plan Experience working in a fast pace and dynamic ‘start-up’ environment Strong ability to learn and develop in methods and tools relevant to Ergonomics and Human Factors Thorough understanding of statistical methods and the ability to use relevant software Ability to lead research teams and manage junior team members About Us Forseven is building something new.
