Job Description: Activity Therapist
The primary goal of an activity therapist is to improve the overall well-being and quality of life our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the individual's needs, abilities, and interests. Evaluate their cognitive, physical, emotional, and social functioning to develop personalized treatment plans. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
Plan and organize a variety of therapeutic activities, including arts and crafts, music and dance, sports, games, and recreational outings. Adapt activities to meet the unique needs and abilities of our residents. Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions, encouraging participation, fostering a supportive environment, and promoting social interaction and communication among participants.
Regularly assess and document clients' progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Modify treatment plans as necessary and communicate progress to the interdisciplinary team and the client's family.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Ability to assess individuals' needs, design appropriate activities, and evaluate progress.
* Creativity and adaptability to customize interventions for individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in therapeutic environments.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping individuals improve their well-being.
* Strong organizational and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
