Duties
1. Lead and manage, in conjunction with the Data Warehouse Development Manager, the development of new information databases and processing systems.
2. Improve and streamline existing processes and systems to promote greater efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Develop web-based reporting tools, including designing, maintaining, and developing reports for different audiences.
4. Provide technical assistance to ensure data warehouses support Contracting/SLA reporting requirements.
5. Ensure data warehouses are structured for efficient data aggregation and analysis.
6. Lead the implementation of reporting tools and data warehousing for key performance indicators.
7. Manage upgrades to data warehouses and reporting tools.
8. Maintain a good understanding of new technologies and apply them appropriately.
9. Respond to queries regarding data integrity within the department's databases.
10. Assist Information staff with database analysis and data interpretation.
11. Develop and improve information reporting systems to meet managerial requirements.
12. Support the Trust in the development and implementation of new information systems.
13. Investigate technical issues related to software or databases.
14. Ensure all developed systems are documented and maintained.
15. Work closely with the IT Technical Services Manager to manage application servers.
16. Create and sustain good working relationships with external stakeholders.
17. Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act recommendations.
18. Ensure all processes have written procedures that are maintained.
19. Share responsibility for all aspects of data quality and information.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent in a relevant field.
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification in an ICT related discipline.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Substantial experience in Database Management in a complex environment.
* Advanced experience of MS SQL server and database administration.
* Report development using web/windows technologies.
* In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence, including Analysis Services.
Skills
Essential criteria
* Thorough understanding of relational databases and Data Warehousing.
* MS-SQL server database administration and programming.
* Advanced SQL coding and knowledge of SQL Integration Services.
* Project Management skills.
* Knowledge of data analysis tools.
Desirable criteria
* Understanding of Database design and maintenance.
* Data Academy experience.
* Knowledge of HTML/XML web development tools.
Personal Qualities

* Able to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
* Can communicate complex technical information to non-IT staff.
