In this Construction Planner role, you will manage schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery plan development activities. In addition, the planner will provide technical support and guidance including Work Breakdown Structure, Cost Breakdown Structure and Resource Loading. The Planner will have responsibility for smaller projects (typically up to £20m) or will support a Senior Planner on more complex projects.
The role
Reporting to the Programme Planning Manager, you will play a key role in the Construction team, responsible for schedule development, monitoring, recovery plans and reporting.
Other duties include:
* Developing and managing robust delivery schedules with clear targets and understanding of all activities and interfaces that support the successful completion of the projects.
* Engaging with key stakeholders, including contractors, project managers, engineers and subcontractors regarding the status of projects.
* Offering technical advice and support to team members about best practices and utilisation of the schedule to support the project objectives.
* Performing schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and involvement in change management, risk management and mitigation measures.
What are we looking for?
The live environment at London Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach to problem solving and an innovative outlook. Involved in projects from inception to completion you will work alongside multiple stakeholders. In addition, this role requires:
* Previous experience as a Planner on projects with a value typically over £20m.
* Possession of a relevant qualification or recent demonstrable analytical experience in a STEM/construction related industry.
* Experience in managing complex projects with Primavera software (P6), MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools is essential.
* Experience of working in a live environment is desirable, although airport experience is not essential.
