Join the team at Potters Bar Clinic providing care for young people and adults with acute mental health needs and personality disorders in an established 24-hour care environment. The CAMHS Tier 4 Low Secure services are for young people aged 13–18.
You will be leading and managing full clinical and administrative teams, ensuring excellent care is delivered and maintained, and ensuring quality, efficiency and financial targets are met.
As the Hospital Director at Potters Bar Clinic, you will have overall leadership and management responsibility of the service, lead the multidisciplinary team, and be responsible for operational performance whilst continuing to develop commercial opportunities with purchasers and referrers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Have responsibility for the overall operational management of Potters Bar Hospital coupled with the leadership and development of all departments.
Facilitating the development of quality healthcare services, ensuring that they respond to the changing needs of purchasers and patients, and also reflect market trends and evidence-based practice.
Ensuring both quality and financial targets are met
Leading the senior management team on site, developing local strategy of the service, ensuring adherence to the service’s objectives, quality improvement and business plans.
Promoting and enhancing the hospital’s reputation for specialist care and service
Fulfilling the role of Registered Manager as per CQC expectations
Engagement with Provider Collaboratives
To be successful as Hospital Director, you will:
Have an excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector
A clinical background in and understanding of mental health
An excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector (essential).
An emphasis on performance and delivery in order to support successful service delivery and development, budget control, business development and revenue generation.
A credible, inclusive and supportive management style balanced with strong leadership and sound underpinning knowledge to provide direction and implement change.
Knowledge of clinical and non-clinical operational activities within a health sector organisation.
Working knowledge of the NHS and Independent Healthcare sectors.

Potters Bar Clinic provides 23 acute beds, across two wards for men and women who have enduring mental health problems. Service delivery is driven by the principles of rehabilitation and recovery and the belief that everyone has the capacity for both. The overall aim is to deliver improved quality of life and independence for service users whilst working closely with professionals from the local mental health and social services teams. In partnership with all stakeholders the philosophy is underpinned by the need to provide robust risk management, social inclusion and the opportunity for independent living.
Potters Bar Clinic offers a CAMHS Tier 4 low secure service for all genders aged from 13 up to 18 years with a wide range of mental health disorders and complex needs.
Our aim is to deliver, treat and empower each young person to live a safe and independent life and reach their individual potential. Our 18-bed inpatient unit is set over two wards (Opal and Jasper) and offers a safe and nurturing environment to support and aid recovery. The young people are encouraged to individualise their own en-suite bedrooms in order for them to feel comfortable.
