Job Title: Ambulatory Registered Dietitian (Bariatric & Medical Weight Loss dept.)
Work Model: HYBRID - Remote work will be possible after initial (Hybrid)
Location: Seaford, DE with occasional travel to Salisbury, MD (every other Friday - 2x/mo)
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire/Permanent
Schedule: 4x10 or 5x8 hour day shifts (Monday – Friday, no nights, holidays, or weekends)
Salary Range: $58,780.80 – $91,124.80 (commensurate with experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000 for new grads | Up to $10,000 for candidates with 1+ year of experience
Position Overview:
The Ambulatory Registered Dietitian will work in a busy, high-volume outpatient clinic environment providing 1:1 consultations. After initial onboarding, hybrid work opportunities are available! This position offers an excellent work-life balance and involves working closely with the Medical Weight Loss and Bariatric Community to foster positive lifestyle changes. The RD will have the support of a full-time Medical Assistant designated for the Dietitian.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing nutrition guidance and counseling to metabolic and bariatric surgery patients pre and post-operative through development, implementation, and monitoring of dietary recommendations pertaining to weight loss surgery.
2. Analyzing data, assessing nutrition status, and formulating nutrition care plans. Co-administrator on specific online applications/software used to support Bariatric patients.
3. Assisting in center development, patient education, and staff education (as needed) on diet and nutrition related to metabolic and bariatric surgeries.
4. Maintaining Nutrition guide following most current guidelines.
5. Acting as liaison between the weight loss center, bariatric coordinator, and surgeons performing metabolic and bariatric surgery at both centers.
6. Working closely with the bariatric coordinator to ensure timely submission and accurate information regarding diet and nutrition for pre- and post-surgical patients.
7. Coordinating with Metabolic and Bariatric System (MBS) Coordinator in all aspects of dietary services for the metabolic and bariatric patient.
8. Leading support groups (e.g., System Bariatric Support group/Boot Camp) and tracking attendance for pre- and post-surgical patients.
9. Participating in metabolic and bariatric surgery team rounds/meetings and assigned committees.
10. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other allied health staff to provide patient care.
11. Participating in QI activities required to meet MBSAQIP Accreditation.
12. Performing other duties as deemed necessary for program growth.
Required Qualifications:
* Registered Dietitian (RD) credential (required)
* Licensure in both Delaware and Maryland (or willingness to obtain — reimbursement is provided)
* Degree in Nutrition or related field
* Minimum of 1 year experience in clinical nutrition, but new grads are encouraged to apply
* Strong interpersonal, time management, and communication skills
* Comfortable with high-volume outpatient settings and structured schedules
