Job summary
We have an active and growing paediatric research unit based within a new, dedicated and purpose-built Children's Clinical Research Facility (CCRF), which opened in 2018. We employ over 18 research nurses and clinical research practitioners with a portfolio of over 20 research studies currently in the delivery stage. Over recent years, the department has seen a significant expansion of clinical research.
As a result, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual to join our Trust as a Clinical Trials Administrator, to join our CCRF at St Mary's Hospital. Hours can be either part time (30hrs/week) or full time (37.3hrs). The post will be funded for 12 months in the first instance. The successful applicant will join a first class team delivering ongoing and ground-breaking paediatric research studies.
This role involves working closely with medical and nursing staff along with research participants and their families. The post holder will be required to provide an efficient administrative service to the users of Children's Clinical Research Facility. The ability to work independently and follow the policies and procedures of the department is essential. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, and reliability and must have an organised approach to work.
This position provides the opportunity to work within a very supportive and welcoming team, providing opportunity to further develop your existing knowledge and skills. Previous administration experience in an NHS environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Trials Administrator, you will be a member of the Paediatric Research team at St Mary's Hospital. You will be required to provide administrative support to the CCRF staff, study participants and visitors to the unit. You will be dealing with general enquiries from participants and CCRF visitors. You may also be required to support with tasks related to the setup of study visits.
