Ranson Barnes are excited to be seeking a permanent Stores and Dispatch Manager to join our returning client in the Engineering Industry. This is a newly created role due to continued success and future proofing the business.
This role involves managing the stores and dispatch operations, with responsibility for a team of six, including store staff, transport drivers, and material handlers. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, ideally in a technical or engineering setting, with strong knowledge of engineering-related components. Leadership skills, organisational abilities, and excellent communication are essential, alongside a willingness to adapt and improve processes for greater efficiency.
We are looking for someone proactive, flexible, and team-oriented who thrives on driving positive change and fostering a productive workplace environment.
Responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing stock handling, including receiving, storage, and dispatch processes.
2. Inspecting incoming goods, reporting any issues with quality or quantity.
3. Preparing shipping documentation and ensuring stock systems are kept up to date.
4. Managing internal and external transport arrangements, including subcontracted logistics where needed.
5. Collaborating with internal teams such as production and sales to meet operational needs.
6. Enforcing health and safety standards and ensuring team members receive necessary training.
7. Conducting staff reviews, handling performance issues, and overseeing return-to-work processes.
