Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology & Aseptic Services based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join the Cancer pharmacy team in NHS Ayrshire & Arran and be involved in both the clinical and aseptic aspects of the safe delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment to the patients in Ayrshire and Arran. You will become an integral member of the MDT within a well-established team of Clinical Oncology Pharmacists. There will be the opportunity to develop experience in both oncology and haemato-oncology through a rotation programme, with training provided to those new to oncology. You will also act as deputy accountable pharmacist for the Aseptic Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC) and be responsible for the daily production of essential medicines such as chemotherapy, TPN and neonatal medicines.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will possess a desire to drive forward clinical and operational cancer pharmacy services. You will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and work effectively as part of the pharmacy and wider multidisciplinary team. We actively support development of our staff and applicants not currently holding a practice prescribing certificate will be supported to complete this.
Hours:
37 hours per week. You will participate in weekend, public holiday and extended hours rotas as required in addition to the on-call rota. The post holder shall have a base site of University Hospital Crosshouse for the purposes of on-call rota and weekend working. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and or an extended working day.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
